PK Mishra Reappointed as Principal Secretary to PM Modi
The Government of India has reappointed Pramod Kumar Mishra as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Principal Secretary. According to the Department of Personnel and Training, his renewed tenure will begin on June 10, 2024. The Cabinet Appointment Committee has approved the appointment of Dr.PK Mishra a former IAS official, to continue as the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary beginning June 10, 2024.
Dr. PK Mishra, a seasoned bureaucrat from the 1972 batch who retired as Agriculture Secretary to the Government of India, has been a key member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inner circle for the past decade. Following his retirement, Dr. Mishra continued to be an important member of the Prime Minister’s team.
PK Mishra served as Prime Minister Modi’s Additional Principal Secretary from 2014 until 2019. In another key step, Amit Khare and Tarun Kapoor have been selected as Prime Minister’s advisors, beginning their two-year term on June 10, 2024.
