Income Tax Reminder: Warning Issued by Income Tax Department

Income Tax Reminder: In the fiscal year 2023–2024, certain people and businesses have been warned by the Income Tax Department for inconsistencies between their tax payments and financial activity, as per the Ministry of Finance.

Income Tax Reminder: The Income Tax Department has identified some people and organizations whose tax payments do not correspond with their financial transactions from the fiscal year 2023–2024, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday. In response, the department launched an Advance Tax E-Campaign with the goal of emailing these people or businesses to inform them of their noteworthy financial activity. It is highly recommended that those who have not paid their taxes carefully assess their liabilities and make advance payments by March 15th at the latest.

The official statement states that the Income Tax Department obtains information about the financial activity of taxpayers through a variety of sources. To promote openness, this information is kept in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) module, where anybody can view it at any time. Taxpayers can easily enter into their e-filing accounts and access to the Compliance Portal for a detailed look at notable transactions. Here they are able to provide the details of important money transactions under the e-Campaign tab.

The first step for people or entities that haven’t enrolled on the e-filing website yet is to do so on the platform. The procedure entails filling out all the required information and hitting the ‘Register’ button that is prominently displayed on the e-filing website.

After completing the registration process successfully, users can access their e-filing accounts by logging in. From there, they can quickly navigate to the assigned portal and locate the e-Campaign tab, which will allow them to easily access and review important transactions.
