Nitin Gadkari's Big Vows: Phasing Out Petrol and Diesel Cars in India in Ten Years
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announces an audacious plan to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles in India in ten years, emphasizing the financial benefits of electric cars over traditional fuels. Under a public-private partnership approach, Gadkari and Jai Ram Thakur investigate the use of hydro power for the construction of ropeways and cable cars, with a total projected expenditure of ₹20,000 crores.
Gadkari is pleased that the 2.8 kilometer long and more than ₹270 crore Bijli Mahadev Ropeway project was approved. By July 2026, this project—which is anticipated to be finished—should enable up to 36,000 pilgrims a day to have year-round access.
The minister endorsed BJP Lok Sabha candidates, including Kangana Ranaut, while restating the party’s achievements and goals to lead India’s economy towards a $5 trillion GDP. Furthermore, the elections in Himachal Pradesh are scheduled for June 1; the results are anticipated to be declared on June 4, 2024, which will be a significant event in the political history of the state.
